I’m having a fancy February freak out!
On one hand I feel incredibly excited and honored to be invited to some upcoming parties and special formal celebrations. On the other hand, I’m a nervous nelly anxiously scouring amazon and other sites for formal cocktail attire. I feel like a baby child and I just want my mommy to dress me!
How can a 49 year old woman not know what she wants to wear?!?!?!
I don’t know what to wear!
Here is the thing…February blows!
It’s cloudy grey and cold which is totally off putting and uninspiring! My skin is dry, crepe, blotchy and down right WHITE. Do I wear a cute jumpsuit, or long sleeve dress with heels, or a long dress with heels, a short dress with boots, high neck, cut out, cowl neck, backless, sleeveless, or off the shoulder??? It’s maddening the choices for special occasion/ cocktail hour. So like the weather, I can’t decide and I go back and fourth like a hot teeter totter.
DRESSY ENOUGH?
I have this simple chic spaghetti strap dress but for some reason it doesn’t feel dressy enough! It’s super great don’t get me wrong, but I feel the bodycon spaghetti strap dress is more for informal events like date night, graduation, going out or social gatherings and cocktails.

This Amazon find is a keeper! I cherish this BTFBM dress because of the versatility and. numerous color options. Drop a shoulder and hike up the dress for a body con slim fit or wear it long and more conservative. This is my go to black dress for last min dressing that I don’t have to think about!!!

I love a fun jumpsuit but are these two cuties formal enough?
I adore the FIT of the NORMA KAMALI velvet jumpsuit. I’m crazy about all of her stuff! What I love about this jumpsuit is how soft it is and not limiting at all. I feel secure and confident but does it need a pop? The NORMAL KAMALI velvet jumpsuit comes in three other velvet colors!

Maybe some gold or pink or red shoes would glam it up!!
The FIT on this ruffled jumpsuit is equally flattering. I love the cut and wide flare pants but is it too bland for a cocktail party?

I like to have a few options in my back pocket. We have two weddings, one in the Spring (march) and late May. Both of these months in Texas are totally unpredictable as it pertains to weather. It can easily be windy, cold and rainy or muggy swamp damp and drab. It could be warm perfect weather but one never really knows making it virtually impossible to plan an outfit! I’m hopeful for warmer weather which is why I try to focus on bright colors and manifest the look I pray for when March and May roll around.
This silky satin one shoulder number felt great from the get go! It’s super trendy and styling and feels like butter. Ultra cute fit and side cut out makes it fun. It comes in some solid colors and it’s totally appropriate for a cocktail party and fun night out

Think Pink! This pink one shoulder dress is to die for classy! It’s form fitting and so well made. Empire waist with a gushing side train makes the stretchy dress a MUST HAVE! It comes in several solid colors. I ordered in black and pink but cannot pass up the pink!

I also purchased this compression slip dress! It’s a shapewear seamless dress to hug all the shapes and hold the jiggle in place! This shapewear has adjustable and interchangeable straps in black and clear! It’s easy to pull up or down and stays in place!
SEQUIN JUMPSUIT. – This skinny leg high neck jumpsuit is nice but size up! I ordered a small and it was too short and way to tight!
I love the gold hardware and low back. At first I thought it was going to be see through but it’s not!
This long sleeve silky dress is low cut but a super conservative length. It’s tapered at the waist and has a criss cross front hem. It’s a solid zip up in the back and wears so well. The bell sleeves and empire cut are flattering for the hippy and non hippy women. Pair with high stiletto heels and enjoy the night away.

At the end of the day I have to pick a dress. I have to narrow it down!
And the winner goes to…
The black cut out dress for the 50th birthday party was perfection. I felt hip and comfortable which is mandatory! I could dance freely and enjoy the evening!

I’m keeping the pink one shoulder with the side train for a March wedding! I will pair it with some gold bling shoes to ensure comfort and joy!

I do love this jumpsuit and will most likely keep it for a future fun party night!
This simple cowl neck slip dress is too silky for words. It feels super amazing and so easy to zip on and wear dressy or resort wear!

Ladies the point is… give yourself options! Amazon makes it so easy to order and try on and or order and take back!
Doll it up or dial it back! I’m locked and loaded and ready to roll for spring time parties and cocktails!
Love, dress up and enjoy the buzz!
