Whether we like it or not, CBD is completely mainstream. It’s no longer a dark alley black market product. In fact, I bet you have noticed the extreme wave of CBD pop up stores in and around your area. CBD sold here signs are everywhere from grocery stores to gas stations. Is CBD the new candle?
How is the public to “weed out” and filter this expanding mary…I mean market? Magazines and news cover this topic but is it a buyer beware, fake news or a legit healthy product?
Today I want to answer some of the most common questions and debunk some of the fear and paranoia. Above all, please always consult with your doctor before you begin taking any form of CDB.
What is this cannabis and how can it help you?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is an organic compound found in the resinous flower of cannabis, a plant with a rich history as a medicine going back thousands of years. Think American Indians and then some.
Today the therapeutic properties of CBD are being tested and confirmed by scientists and doctors around the world. A safe, non-addictive substance, pure CBD is one of more than a hundred “phytocannabinoids,” which are unique to cannabis.
THC is the compound found in cannabis that causes the famous “high.” When TCH is extracted, CBD as a stand alone has many unique benefits. Most CBD oils have a .3 (small amount of THC) but not enough to create an actual high or happy effect.
However, it has been noted that with regular use, THC can be detected in a blood drug test.
CBD is being used to relieve pain and is and replacing many anxiety medications. CBD is a non-pharmaceutical option for pain management and is proving decrease in joint pain and inflammation in people of all ages. BUT… is it safe for all ages? YES!
As an natural oral supplement, CBD is helping with a plethora of things including bad sleeping habits. It’s not only aiding folks in falling asleep but staying asleep for 6 or more hours. Mr. Chicken Fry is no longer reliant on the perception drug Ambien which has many harmful side effects.
In May of this year, TSA , in a hush hush report, changed their travel policy for CBD. Forbes magazine recently reported this quiet change and noted that the @AskTSA account advised a traveler that “Products that contain hemp-derived CBD oil or are FDA-approved are generally legal & can fly.”
The TSA said the change was prompted by the only Food and Drug Administration-approved drug that contains CBD oil, Epidiolex, which is used to treat seizures in children with epilepsy.
The notation on medical marijuana now reads:
“Possession of marijuana and certain cannabis infused products, including some Cannabidiol (CBD) oil, remain illegal under federal law. TSA officers are required to report any suspected violations of law, including possession of marijuana and certain cannabis infused products.
Products/medications that contain hemp-derived CBD or are approved by the FDA are legal as long as it is produced within the regulations defined by the law under the Agriculture Improvement Act 2018.
BALM? OIL? CAPSULE?
It’s all about the way that the CBD is delivered to your blood stream to target the effected area. My Mr. Chicken Fry started taking CBD oil drops last February. He chose to start taking it as an anti anxiety and to remedy his sleep issues. He believes that it has helped his allergies and anxiety on a big scale.
Also noted that while Mr. Chicken Fry plays in the occasional golf game and is certainly an active person, he doesn’t “exercise” so to speak. He started using CBD about a month before our ski trip. Last year, I vividily remember that he was sore in his quads and shoulders. This trip, he had zero muscle tenderness and I believe CBD is responsible.
With the growing opioid epidemic, CBD can help as a potential treatment for addiction. It’s been helpful with lowering heart rates, cortisol levels and significantly reducing cravings.
Mr. Chicken Fry is such a believer the oil, he has partnered with CTFO, Changing the Future Outcome
CBD is helping a wide variety of conditions such as:
ADD and ADHD
spinal cord injuries
Traumatic brain injuries
I believe that CBD can certainly have a calming effect but it can also energize your life! STARTER KIT for a natural stress relief.
- Unplug. Limit screen time before bed.
- Exercise. My favorite way to cure stress because exercise releases endorphins that can bring feelings of happiness.
- Drink WATER. Drink water and or green or chamomile tea which can relieve headaches.
- Set the mood. Light candles and or rub essential oils on your temples and hands. These oils can clear your mind and set a smell good spa vibe.
- Pray and mediate on God’s word. focus on breathing and reading the truth. Centering on God’s word will calm your spirit.
- Smart snacking. Avoid large amounts of sugar and simple carbs. The sugar highs and lows can cause crashing and mood swings.
Oil is the most common delivery method of CBD. There are vape pens much like an e-cigarette to be inhaled. However, in largely unregulated vape pen market there are potential risks. The main one being the inhalation of propylene glycol, a widely used thinning compound found in everything including baby wipes. At high temps, the chemical breaks down and may cause severe harm to the lungs.
I started taking CBD about two months ago for some arthritic pain in my elbow and knee. I started taking one half drop in the morning and one half drop before bed. My pain is slowly subsiding. Like anything new, you ahve to give it 3 months to fully judge the impact.
