Warning….some of the content in this post is of a medical graphic nature.
My previous post, It’s NOT a Muscle, was so well received by all of my loyal friends and followers.
Thank you, I was blown away by your generous outpouring of love, support and concern for my lipoma. Thank you all so much. Every comment, message, or phone call was heart-felt and appreciated beyond belief.

PART TWO BEGINS NOW
I let the hot Summer months pass and decided to wait until mid September to undergo my first noninvasive treatment. I was injected with a hefty round of Kybella. Kybella is a fairly new FDA approved drug used to reduce fat under the chin and neck area. My doctor, Board Certified Dermatologist Dr. Allison Black, was certain that Kybella would be the perfect noninvasive procedure to treat and shrink the girth/fat of my hideous lipoma.
Considering that my daily gig and lively hood as a personal trainer requires a ton of high intensity lifting and demonstrating exercises, the opportunity to dodge the knife was a complete blessing. With little to no pain or down time or pain, I jumped at the chance to get the shrinking started.
Before pictures

Here is a short video of the actual procedure and a word from Dr. Black.
The nurse, swabbed the area with numbing cream and I swallowed three ibuprofen to reduce inflammation and tenderness. The actual procedure was virtually painless and quick. As you can see, Dr. Black marks the area with the grid and begins to inject the needle full of fat shrinking medication into the lipoma. Less than 8-10 minutes I was done with the actual procedure. Total time, allowing for numbing cream to do its job, was about 40 minutes tops.
Aftwerward, I did feel a slight stinging from the medication which lasted about 45 minutes following the 10 minute procedure. The after effects were minor tenderness on the lipoma but only if I touched it. It wasn’t sensitive or bothersome. In fact, I literally forgot I had anything done until I reached to pull down my sports bra and lightly grazed the area. The tenderness lasted about two days but again was only felt if I actually touched or grazed the area.
I had zero downtime which was a key element in this whole journey.
This picture was taken 24 hours after the injections.
As expected there was some redness and swelling that lasted for about 5 days. I treated it with Blue-Emu because we all know I can’t get enough of this do it all cream.
After only one treatment of Kybella I noticed that the lipoma was not as raised. It’s was like the medicine had dispersed the fat and flattened or made it spread thin. While still visible to the eye, the lipoma was significantly reduced. The texture also seemed to be more squishy in substance and not as hard and oval.
Exactly 7 weeks later I was back for round two.. After 20 minutes of sitting with numbing cream it was go time. I forgot to take my ibuprofen so I was a bit nervous but low and behold I felt nothing. Toward the end I felt a slight burn but it was totally tolerable.
After leaving the doctor’s office, I went on about my day as usual. I was directed to drink a ton of water for the next week which is standard procedure for me. However, I was asked not to lift weights for the next 8-10 hours. This could increase swelling so I didn’t.

Towards the end of the day about 4 hours later I experienced some minor swelling and tenderness so I took some ibuprofen.
I woke up the next day and just like before, I forgot that I had been injected. No pain and less tender than the first time.

You can see the difference right? Not only is the change visible to the eye, the feeling is so different. The lipoma is smaller in girth and less raised. It’s working it’s magic and I couldn’t be more excited.
I went back for a third treatment. Eight weeks later I was back at Las Colinas Dermatology and everything went as normal and planned. Moderate stinging that only lasted 15-20 minutes and some swelling which I nursed with ibuprofen.
Look at this dramatic change. This is me today 8 weeks after round three of kybella injections by Dr. Alison Black. What a transformation, huh?!?! I’m beyond pleasantly pleased with the outcome and the ease of this entire process.
If you are living with a growing lipoma, the wait is over. Call Dr. Alison Black at Las colinas Dermatology and schedule your consultation immediately. If you are in fact a candidate for Kybella injections I highly recommend it. This out of the box method was a miracle alternative to cutting, scaring and healing. Serously, there is nothing to be afraid of at all. It’s basically a pain free, scar free, non invasive, no downtime, win-win procedure.
Just for grins, I will go back before Summer and have one last injection to shrink this nasty lump into an oblivion. I think I will rest well with one more shot. Don’t you worry…because if and when I do, I’ll be sure to keep you in the lipoma loop.
I can’t wait to wear a tank top or a swimsuit or video a workout and not feel the shame of my lipoma. Hopefully I won’t have to take any more questions like, “Oh my goodness, what is that? Is that a muscle?”
Hopefully, with one more treatment, it will be gone for good!
Thanks again for all of your support and kind words.
And special thanks to my main girl Toni and Dr. Black for coaching me throughout this lengthy but well worth it process.
Love, think out of the box and save time on the clock!
