Why is it so hard?
Most likely it’s because vanity pounds have nothing to do with actual health.
The last 5-10 pounds are generally a personal preference!
I look at vanity pounds as a personal individual ascetic. We all have a set weight that we like or “feel good” at in our skin. As an example, I’m a small petite person. I’m shorty at 5’4 and perfectly healthy weighing in between 117 – 127lbs. However, at 127lbs, I personally FEEL heavy. (By heavy I mean in the literal sense like the earth is pulling me down) I usually feel like I have less definition and my clothes are a smidge tight. While I do like my face and booty better, what I don’t like is the way my abs or boobs look or feel. I feel swollen. Also, I. Don’t care for the way my jeans fit when I’m in my upper register. Does that make sense?
Vanity pounds are difficult because generally, we are talking about a tiny amount of body fat to shed just because you/me/ we want a leaner ascetic. What usually happens is we go into superhuman workout mode and crash diet. The body gets confused when we start trying to manhandle the vanity pounds.
For instance, you pulled two-day workouts and did your cardio all week long like a boss. You only ate a spec of dust and an air soufflé but nothing changed. This is because your body went into fight or flight. You scared it! Your body doesn’t really have weight to lose remember. You are healthy and optimal health so the body doesn’t understand the vain thing.
When you’re pumping out energy burning calories and taking in less, your body can’t sustain it. Your METABOLISM gets screwed up. If you vegged on the couch and did nothing all day your body still produces energy. How much energy does it take to live, breath, sleep, grow hair, etc. When you reduce calories and workout like crazy your body is like “hey sister why are you trying to be invisible?” You are already at a decent weight. So if you push too hard your body will release fat-storing hormones. It’s simple to lose vanity pounds but what you don’t want to do is screw your metabolism.
Generally speaking – if a pound is about 3500 calories and you’re burning 500 a day you will drop a pound a week. This equates to a month to lose your vanity pounds. This will slow your metabolism. This is what you don’t want.

If you are. burning up to 2200 calories you don’t want to eat less than 1700. Don’t overtrain!
1) The absolute max workout time should be 5 hours a week but you have to eat more because of your energy deficit. Your energy output. To shed the vanity pounds you DON’T want to diet /eat or workout like your trying to lose 30 pounds! That will cause a plateau because you don’t have 30 to lose.
2) With Vanity pounds you always have to factor in water weight. It’s important to flush excess water by drinking intaking more water. You should be chugging water all day and night. You want your urine to look like light-colored lemonade.
3) Stop hammering the salt. Back off of sodium-rich foods. Instead, eat potassium-rich foods such as edamame, watermelon, spinach, sweet potatoes, and avocado. These foods help flush out bloat.
Cook at home with fresh foods.

4) SLEEP. 8-10. Your body needs rest.
5) Cut out complete crap foods such as processed sugar, fast food, white flour and cut the booze.

I repeat. Up the water and sleep! Workout. exercise and. move your body. (But not over 5 times a week) Create a calorie deficit but not excessive! You will drop the 10 pounds in less than a month!
